KITCHEN ASSISTANT POSTED: 12/14/2009
Part-Time (M–F, 4-6pm)
Summary:
Responsible for assisting in coordination of daily operations at the Kids Café.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves prepared food to 6-18 year old club members as part of Kids Café program.
Fill out reporting form daily and fax it to The Greater Boston Food Bank and internal BGCB representatives weekly (and/or as requested).
Report any incidents to the Programs Manager at The Greater Boston Food Bank.
Coordinate with The Greater Boston Food Bank for technical assistance and nutrition education programming.
Responsible for ensuring that program is in compliance with local board of health regulations.
Participate in meetings regarding Kids Cafe as needed.
Participate in evaluations and media as requested.
Work well with children and adults.
Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Work Demands)
Knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation strongly preferred
Experience coordinating programs.
Servsafe certification required (ServSafe certified or willingness to become certified in food safety)
Experience working with children
Organized and reliable.
High School diploma or GED Certificate.
Flexibility to work clubhouse hours especially as seasons and service needs change.
Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
