Following what certainly felt like the shortest summer in Boston history, why not welcome all of the sights and sounds of Christmas in September?
Boys & Girls Clubs of America sponsor, Disney, will bring the holidays to Boston from September 25 – 27 at South Station, at the corner or Summer Street and Atlantic Avenue, as part of an interactive 40-city train tour. The weekend-long family event is free to the public, and provides a sneak peek at the upcoming 3D movie, Disney’s A Christmas Carol, along with carolers, holiday decorations, interactive displays and giveaways for “kids of all ages.”
The train’s four custom-designed vintage rail cars contain authentic artifacts on loan from the Charles Dickens Museum of London; artwork, costumes and props from the film; and film-related interactive demos. The Disney Digital 3D Theatre will offer a sneak peek at the film and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.
Kids can enter a contest for a chance to appear on Disney Channel and to receive a prize package of exclusive Disney gear. Boston visitors to the Train will also have the chance to win an HP TouchSmart PC and an HP Photosmart wireless printer.
The Train began its journey in Los Angeles in May and will make 40 stops in 36 states as it travels more than 16,000 miles to its final destination, New York’s Grand Central Terminal on October 30th.
To support the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide, Disney presented Boys & Girls Clubs of America with a donation of $100,000 at the May 21st launch in Los Angeles.
