A Day to Celebrate:

Myra Kraft Opening Day

Last week all nine our our Clubs across Boston and in Chelsea celebrated Myra Kraft Opening Day, which kicks-off the 2009-10 program year. The day is named in honor of BGCB’s Chair Emerita, whose tireless support of our mission has impacted the lives of thousands of youth.

On September 15, Myra visited the South Boston Club where a pep rally was held in her honor. Connor Nee, President  of Keystone Club, a leadership group for teens, introduced Myra to the crowd, which she encouraged to take full advantage of all the Club has to offer.

"From homework help to dance lessons to physical fitness activities in the gym and nutritious meals through Kids Café – the Club has so many activities for you to enjoy. And, of course, it’s a safe place for you to have lots of fun!" she told members.

The upcoming program year will demonstrate our continued commitment to quality programming in six core areas, Arts; Education; Leadership; Life Skills; Sports, Fitness and Recreation; and Technology.
