At BGCB’s 114th Annual Meeting on December 4, Jon Davis was voted in as Chair-Elect. Current Chair of the Board, Sandy Edgerley will serve through November 2010, when Jon Davis will become Chair. In addition, four new member of the Board of Directors and 18 new Overseers were elected.

The newly appointed Directors, all four of whom have served as Overseers, are:


Maureen Alphonse-Charles, Managing Director for the Boston branch of Horton International, LLC, an executive search firm, where she is responsible for expanding the firm’s non-profit and financial services practices;

 


William A. Earon, Managing Director for Coastal Capital Advisors, LLC, a private equity and board-consulting firm that invests in Massachusetts-based companies in the film and production industry;

 


Karen Firestone, President and co-founder of Aureus Asset Management, an investment firm providing contemporary asset management to families and individuals;

 

 


Lawrence D. Greenberg; General Partner and a working advisor for Alydar Capital.

 

 


The newly appointed Overseers are:


Brad R. Balter, Managing Partner of Balter Capital Management, Inc., a boutique investment advisory firm specializing in hedge funds;


 

 

 

Jarrett T. Barrios, President of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation, where he previously served as a founding Board member;

 

 


Anita Bekenstein, a former occupational therapist specializing in neurology and pediatrics, and now an active community volunteer for Horizons for Homeless Children, Mercy Corps; the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Rosie’s Place, and City Year International, among others;

 

 

Susan Bonanno, founder of the Bonanno Marketing Group Inc., a marketing consultancy that focuses exclusively on communications strategies for non-profit organizations;


 

 

Stephanie Connaughton, who is responsible for the development and execution of all new hair removal technologies as Director of Emerging Technologies, Global Business Management – Grooming Products at the Gillette Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Procter & Gamble Company;

Weston (Tony) Howland III, President, Howland Capital Management, who has served as a Director since November 1986;


David C. Kaplan, co-founder and Managing Partner of Shepherd Kaplan LLC, an independent investment advisory firm where he provides consulting and investment management services to private investors, trusts and foundations in the areas of investment portfolio design and risk management;


 

Gordon G. Kluzak, a Vice President at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.;

 

 

 

Lauren Phelan Lipscomb, a Vice President at the CB Richard Ellis Downtown Brokerage Group Inc.;

 

 

 

Dishon Mills, the Senior Manager of the Department of Extended Learning Time, Afterschool & Services of Boston Public Schools (BPS), a department he launched to promote the expansion and improvement of programs at the district’s 144 schools, and supports community agencies seeking to partner with schools. In addition, Mr. Mills is a trainer for the National Institute on Out-of-School Time (OST);

 


John K. Nicholas, owner and Chief Executive Officer of Chelsea Clock Company, and a founder of IC Sciences Corp., a healthcare services company based in Boston;


 

 

Jeremy M. Sclar, President of W/S Development Associates, a real estate development and management company;

 

 


Troy L. Stanfield, a Partner at Castanea Partners specializing in private equity and consulting in the consumer products and business services sectors;


 

 

Michael P. Stansky, Managing Director and Partner at Tudor Investment Corporation, where he focuses on portfolio management;


Kimberly Steimle, Vice President of Business Development, Marketing & Community Outreach for Suffolk Construction Company, Inc., where she is responsible for the overall management of corporate marketing, business development, community outreach efforts, and volunteer and community programs;

 


William J. Walsh, Esq., founder of the Law Office of William J. Walsh & Associates, where his work focuses on government affairs and real estate. He also provides consulting services through MASStrategies, a business consulting firm, and serves as a Sergeant in the Boston Police Department, where he has worked for 28 years;

 


Marc. A. White Jr., Managing Director and CEO for New England at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he is responsible for delivering the firm’s broad capabilities in investing, wealth advisory, family office management, philanthropy and credit to the regions high net-worth clients.
