Partnering with the Blue Hill Club, the Nexus Alliance made Thanksgiving brighter for nearly 800 families in Dorchester with a free turkey give-away on November 23 and a free Thanksgiving dinner for Club members and their families on November 25.

During the turkey give-away, nearly 40 volunteers distributed turkeys outside of the Club. Two days later, 20 volunteers from the Alliance worked with the Greater Boston Food Bank to serve a hot, nutritious Thanksgiving meal to Blue Hill Club members and their families.

Both events were made possible by the Nexus Alliance, whose mission is to cultivate a network of black male professionals who provide an inclusive platform for mentoring, internal business development, community achievement and visibility.

"It was wonderful to see how much our activities meant to the families that came to the Club, but honestly, I think we got at least as much joy from the event," said Daniel Rivers, Nexus Alliance President. "Some of us brought our kids here to help, because it's important to pass along these values to the next generation."

Nexus was also responsible for securing additional sponsors, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Metro PCS, Tremont Credit Union, Robert White Associates, Daniel Rivers, Pat Washington, Stephen Howard and the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts.
