ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT                                             POSTED: 03/02/2010

Summary: Major responsibility is to provide administrative assistance to the Executive Director and Program Directors when appropriate and to provide direct supervision of specific program/operation areas.  This position is temporary from March to July 2010.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all correspondence for the Executive Director including, but not limited to, internal memoranda, correspondence to other clubs and organizations, reports, and budget support materials.  Maintains copies and organizes documents as necessary. 

  • As requested, assist in maintaining personnel records including all attendance data (time sheets, vacation, sick and personal time), performance evaluations, and other documentation (e.g. certifications, professional development documents)

  • Manage clubhouse financial records and correspondence including, but not limited to, accounts payables and receivables, check requests, and budget-related documents.

  • Serve as liaison between clubhouse and BGCB Main Office on behalf of Executive Director as necessary (process paperwork including budget information, check requests, payroll).

  • Responsible for coordinating all office supplies and equipment (fax machine, copier, etc.) including managing the maintenance contracts, repairs, and related orders.

  • When necessary, receive and transfer all in-coming telephone calls to the club; take accurate messages when necessary.  Serve an important public relations role by providing accurate information about the clubhouse and its operations. 

  • Participate in individual supervision sessions; participate in professional development opportunities as appropriate. 

  • Travel between sites and to activities as needed.

  • Other related duties as specified by the Executive Director.

 

Qualifications:                   

  • High school diploma required.  Advanced degree preferred.

  • Direct experience in customer service and/or reception, with computers, and data management.

  • Prior experience managing staff and/or program functions/services.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

  • MS Office and web competency preferred.

  • Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

AQUATICS DIRECTOR                                               POSTED: 03/02/2010

Summary:  Major responsibility is to oversee the planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation of quality and developmentally appropriate programs, activities, services, and special events in the club’s aquatics program areas for youth ages 6-18.  Additional responsibilities include the oversight of program staff and department budget.

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with department staff, provide a variety of programming options reflective of the BGCB Aquatics Program. The Director will also run individual programs, activities, trips, etc.  Individual responsibilities include, but not limited to, oversight of open swim, swim lessons, swim team, and lifeguard training.

  • Supervise and discipline of members participating in programs and services within the program area as well as throughout the clubhouse as deemed appropriate.

  • Develop and implement collaborative programs and events with staff from other clubhouse departments as well as staff from other BGCB clubhouses and community organizations as appropriate.  Participate in NENEAPC programs as appropriate.

  • Coordinate volunteers and consultants who can offer related instruction, support and guidance to members.

  • Participate in program/service outcome measurement processes and other evaluations programs including BGCA’s annual evaluation Commitment to Quality

  • Orient, train and supervise department staff (including work-study students, junior staff, & volunteers). Provide annual performance evaluations for applicable staff in a timely manner.

We are currently recruiting for summer Camp Counselors to work in our clubhouse in Roxbury.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily delivery of a wide variety of developmentally appropriate programs and activities.

  • Assist in the supervision and discipline of campers participating in programs and services within the designated program areas as well as throughout the camp/clubhouse as deemed appropriate.

  • Participate in collaborative programs, events, and field trips with staff from other clubhouse groups, staff from other BGCB clubhouses and community organizations as appropriate.

Summary:

Major responsibility is to assist with the daily activities of the School-Age Child Care program (SACC). 

Responsibilities:
