Yawkey Club of Roxbury Centennial

The Yawkey 100th Anniversary logo was designed in Adobe Photoshop by Yawkey Club of Roxbury member Chelsea Lindsey, age 14. The design was inspired by the diverse and enthusiastic Club members who make the 100-year-old Club special to her.

Chelsea first discovered the Computer Clubhouse thanks to “Mr. Murray,” the Club Technology Director who encouraged her to try her hand at graphic design. She has since developed a passion for design, using her love of urban graffiti and neon colors to design flyers for Club events.

“When I found out my logo was chosen to represent the 100th Anniversary of the Club, it was exuberating,” said Chelsea. “Computers and graphic design are such big parts of life now, so it’s important to have a place like the Club to learn about those things.”

Chelsea is the Technology Team captain at the Yawkey Club of Roxbury, where she has been a member for two years. In addition, she is active in Girls’ Group, water aerobics and Keystone Club, a leadership group for teens. She is a freshman at Braintree High School, and hopes to one day attend the Savannah College of Art and Design to study photography.
