Message from the CEO

At this time of year, as we all celebrate family, friends, and what we have to be thankful for, all of us at BGCB are thankful for your ongoing commitment, and what that means for the youth and families we serve. In addition to this quarterly update, you can read about the difference you and all of our supporters are making in our online Annual Report.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a very happy new year.

Generosity brings holiday cheer to Club members

More than ever before, our members and their families were in peoples' thoughts and on their shopping lists this holiday season. Thanksgiving dinner was possible for hundreds of families thanks to a team from Northern Trust, Nexus Alliance and Walmart. Making the holidays brighter for our members, Harvard Pilgrim, Caturano and Company, Friends Council members, Boston Magazine, Boston Celtics player Ray Allen, Delta Airlines, Networked Events, our Main Office staff and many other groups collected and delivered gifts - winter coats, sports equipment, dolls, and supermarket gift cards and more.

It's not too late to make a child's holiday brighter by making a gift to Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston.

BGCB welcomes new Chief Advancement Officer

"It will be a great privilege to collaborate with colleagues and volunteer leaders who share a like-minded passion for improving the lives of thousands of youths in our community. The role of the organization in helping kids rise above the challenges that confront families today is more critical than ever. I am honored to help lead the team supporting this amazing work, and to find ways to strengthen funding sources and relationships with those who give, to have the greatest and most lasting impact possible." - Alexandra Fuchs

BGCB named 4-star charity by Charity Navigator

Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston is proud to announce that we have earned the highest rating from Charity Navigator, its 4-star rating, for sound fiscal management.

Franklin Hill Club unites community

Just three short weeks after opening its doors, the Boys & Girls Club of the Franklin Hill Housing Development welcomed residents to celebrate Thanksgiving as a community. On November 20, Club members and their families enjoyed a meal which parents helped set up, prepare and clean up - a true community collaboration.

Holiday Gift Idea: The book and DVD that has the men of America talking and that's helping kids too

What does it mean to be a "good man?" The Good Men Project: Real Stories from the Front Lines of Modern Manhood, is a collection of first-person stories that comprise a book and documentary about what it means to be a man in America today. Proceeds from the sale of the book benefit the Good Men Foundation, which donates a portion to Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. Be sure to enter P9F8HH where it asks for promotional code so that BGCB will benefit from your purchase.
