Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston is focused on helping at-risk youth stay safe and make positive life choices. BGCB is proud of our excellent reputation as a safe haven for youth, a reputation that has been earned through 115 years of effective service to hundreds of thousands of children and their families in the Boston area. BGCB has been a national leader in adopting significant and proactive child protection guidelines and processes.

As BGCB takes great pride in its responsibility to the children and their families in its care, all staff and volunteers must agree to a thorough screening process prior to their acceptance into the organization and on an annual basis once hired. Our screening process includes:

  • In-person interview(s)
  • Reference check(s)
  • Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) review
  • Sexual Offender Record Information (SORI) review

  • National background screening
