“My experience at the Boys & Girls Club has prepared me to advocate for the ways that community spaces and intentional connection can help us overcome our struggles.” – Chidalu, Berkshire Partners Blue Hill Club 2022 Youth of the Year

Established in 1947, the Youth of the Year Award at Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) recognizes Club members who have shown superior leadership, academic achievement, and service to their respective Club community. The annual program builds personal growth and leadership qualities among our young members.

Get to know Chidalu, Berkshire Partners Blue Hill Club’s 2022 Youth of the Year:

Chidalu remembers July 5, 2011, as his first day at the Club, and the beginning of his Club story. To him, the Club is swimming in the pool, working out in the gym, and being an active member in Torch and Keystone Club. All these spaces gave him the opportunity to connect with peers and staff, and these connections turned into long-lasting relationships that hold incredible value for him.
