This series features our corporate supporters who embody what it means to have a wholistic partnership- where they are not only invested in our mission, but also engaged with our members and their individual goals.

For the past 22 years, Bank of America has been a proud champion of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB), making a difference in the lives of thousands of young people BGCB serves. Bank of America, a multinational investment bank and financial provider, has been standing by us since the turn of the new millennium. From the outset, they’ve been dedicated to helping our members prepare for lifelong success. More than financial support, Bank of America provides hands-on assistance to BGCB families to meet emerging challenges and combat inequality. Whether hosting paid summer internships for our teens, donating pallets of safety products during the pandemic, or inviting our members to support skills training camps at Gilette Stadium, Bank of America consistently engages in practical volunteer efforts to deepen their impact.

Over the years, Bank of America has deepened its commitment to the economic mobility of Boston’s young people- most notably through BGCB’s Workforce Readiness Program – Ready To Work. Each school year, Ready To Work Fellows at BGCB engage in career-readiness curriculum where they learn how to build resumes, write cover letters, prepare for interviews, and develop professional networks. Fellows that complete this curriculum are guaranteed paid summer internships, gaining valuable hands-on experience.

As part of its strong commitment to youth and volunteerism, Bank of America created its Better Money Habits financial literacy workshop. This series equips teens with essential skills to build a strong financial foundation, covering topics such as how to read a paycheck, saving and budgeting, understanding credit scores, compound interest, and avoiding financial scams.

In April, Global Service Month and Financial Literacy Awareness Month, Bank of America volunteers visited the Grousbeck Club of Charlestown to present Better Money Habits to Ready To Work Fellows. BGCB was honored to welcome Bank of America leadership, underscoring their commitment to the partnership and the power of financial education. Through the workshop series, Bank of America volunteers have reached nearly 400 Fellows, helping them make sense of their money and empowering them to make smart financial decisions.

Kevin Kelly, a proud BGCB Hall of Fame inductee, alum from the Grousbeck Club of Charlestown, and now a dedicated leader at Bank of America, exemplifies the spirit of service and brings a deep, personal understanding of how BGCB transforms the lives of Boston’s youth.  His leadership has helped engage other champions, like Tommy Vaughn, who are committed to investing in the city’s next generation of leaders.

The meaningful impact BGCB has on the youth of Boston and Chelsea is only possible thanks to the generosity of partners like Bank of America. Our continued success is a direct reflection of the strong partnership we’ve built. Milestones like these- and the opportunities they unlock for our members are fueled by Bank of America’s steadfast commitment to equity, access, and transformation.
