That belief has always been at the heart of BGCB. The Greatness Clothing Collection is our way of making it visible. Every teen member receives the collection’s hoodie, free of charge, as a reminder of who they already are.
What Is the Greatness Collection?
The Greatness Collection is BGCB’s first-ever member apparel line. The inaugural collection includes a signature hoodie, with t-shirts celebrating your neighborhood, sweatpants with additional pieces as the collection grows.
These are not promotional items. They are not merchandise.
They are a statement.
The collection reflects a simple truth: greatness is not something our members hope to achieve someday. It is something they already carry within them.
Nearly a Year in the Making
The Greatness Collection began nearly a year ago through a collaboration between BGCB and three creative partners whose talent and commitment helped bring the vision to life: Denise Korn, Peda Edouard, and Chris Caldwell.
From the beginning, young people shaped the process. BGCB teens worked alongside the creative team, offering feedback on designs, typography, and overall direction. If the collection was going to belong to them, it needed to come from them. Their style, perspective, and identity are woven into every piece.
The typography alone tells a story. Chris Caldwell of TPOF Studio, the designer behind the custom font developed for the Boston Celtics’ “Different Here” campaign, brought that same spirit of place and pride to the Greatness Collection. The result is lettering that feels unmistakably Boston, built for young people who are shaping the city’s future.
Denise Korn of Yellow & Partners and Peda Edouard of Mathmatik Athletics brought the collection’s visual identity to life with the same care, ensuring that every design choice reflected the talent, ambition, and individuality of BGCB’s membership.
How We Launched It
We introduced the Greatness Collection through launch events at five Clubs across Boston and Chelsea.
At each event, teens watched a short video about the collection, heard from a BGCB alum reflecting on their Club experience, and received their hoodie.
For many teens, the moment was simple but powerful: a reminder that the people around them see their confidence, creativity, leadership, and promise.
It’s a message BGCB Nicholas President and CEO Robert Lewis Jr. shares every day.
