I am thrilled to announce that David Ambroz will become Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston’s (BGCB) new Nicholas President and CEO and will begin his role in early April 2021. You can view a video here allowing him to begin to properly introduce himself to the BGCB community.

Throughout his personal and professional life, David has prioritized working for social change and providing opportunities for youth. He was immediately drawn to BGCB’s mission, as well as the potential for the future. Based in Los Angeles, David is currently the executive director, Corporate Social Responsibility for Walt Disney Television. David’s passion for innovative thinking, along with his demonstrated civic work and fundraising experience will be vital as the organization continues to navigate the challenges of the pandemic and supports our members and families during this new normal.

“At the core of my life is a drive to empower the youth from the communities where I come from, places full of potential but unequal opportunity,” said Ambroz. “[This role] is a chance for me to serve the children and communities of Boston, with the full breadth of resources in people and knowledge that BGCB brings. I’m eager to build on the incredible strength already in place.”

Throughout the search, we prioritized finding someone with a passion for BGCB’s mission and a clear commitment to the well-being and development of our members, along with the skills and strategic leadership needed to foster partnerships and cement BGCB as a leading force in Boston, Chelsea, and beyond. David defines a mission-driven life focused around giving back, community engagement, and a commitment to diversity, and has dedicated his life to all the causes close to BGCB: youth opportunity, hope, inclusiveness, and joy.

As the result of a competitive selection process, our search committee, led by BGCB Director Maureen Alphonse-Charles and including myself and fellow Board Directors, Trustees, and three Club Alumni, concluded that David’s skills and track record as a bold creative leader, his success in driving innovation, his experience leading diverse teams, and his ability to use his skills as an advocate and fundraiser made him the clear best choice to lead BGCB.

Throughout this search, I’ve been inspired by David’s experiences both lived and professional and am so excited for you all to meet him. This is a transformative time for our city, and I remain consistently inspired by what the BGCB family can do together when we support our youth, provide opportunities, and strengthen our Boston community.
